Peter Hepburn: Chief Executive
 
Peter HepburnPeter is responsible for advising Cats Protection’s Board of Trustees on the charity’s strategic objectives, as well as managing the overall performance of Cats Protection to ensure those objectives are met.

Peter has considerable charity experience gained from working with a variety of organisations including Christian Aid, Stonham Housing Association, York St John University and most recently Victim Support, where he was Deputy Chief Executive.

He started his career in the private sector, rising to become a company director in an international group of companies operating in the construction industry. He has also been an active volunteer for a variety of charities, carrying out roles including property care and maintenance and door-to-door fundraising collections.

Peter has been the proud owner of three Cats Protection cats.



Maggie Roberts: Director of Veterinary Services

Maggie RobertsMaggie is responsible for the strategic development of all vet-related services within Cats Protection.

Originally from Cheshire, Maggie graduated from the University of Edinburgh’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in July 1986 and went straight to Malawi to carry out voluntary work. On her return to the UK, Maggie worked for a small animal practice in Portsmouth before heading off to Australia to carry out small animal and wildlife work.

Once back in England, Maggie worked for Cats Protection as Veterinary Officer for a few years before returning to Portsmouth as a partner in practice. She then came back to Cats Protection in 2006 to manage the charity’s Veterinary Department.

Maggie has three cats of her own, Trevor, Ronnie and Frankie, all of which are rescue cats.



Nick Edmans: Director of Communications

Nick EdmansNick is responsible for the work of the charity’s Communications Department, which covers Publications, Digital, Design, PR, Education, Shows & Exhibitions and Internal Communications.

Prior to joining Cats Protection in 2010, Nick was Head of Communications at International Development Charity WaterAid. He also spent seven years as Head of Communications at the Pensions Regulator, and six years as Creative Services Manager at Abbey National (now Banco Santander).

Nick owns two rescue cats called Basil and Charlie.
